These bones come from a possum's hand. I found it travelling around New Zealand beaches. The finger bones are tiny and so fantastically detailed. I found the bones picked perfectly clean by the busy creatures at the seashore and simply bleached them when I got home before mounting them into jewellery. Possums are a real problem in New Zealand because they are destroying our native forests and eating the eggs of endangered birds so somehow it feels rather satifying to turn them into something beautiful at last!
This is a one off so it can only be sold once. It costs £85.
